Protect that Beautiful Face for Fall!

We're approaching Fall with the anticipation of all the good things associated with it....crisp apples, the scent of dried leaves, the color we see from the changing light.  For those of us in any transitional state of menopause, we  know that the hormonal changes can really affect our skin - especially during the harsh winter months ahead!


Practicing a healthy diet and embracing the lifestyle choices are vital during “the change”, but also recognizing that the change your in your skin care is important now more than ever.


Your skin is greatly affected during menopause because of hormones. With the levels of estrogen off balance, we see skin become thinner and drier.

When the body produces less estrogen, it produces less natural moisturizig oils via the oil glands. Skin loses much of its elasticity and plumpness as a result.


Keep your skin supple and moisturized by trying any of the natural known ways, including adding an extra teaspoon of any healthful oils to your salads

and cooking or increase the fish intake where you will also find the oils that your skin loves. 


Try resting more, our body demands it this time of year,just like the mammals that hibernate!  Start by adding an extra 15 minutes each night and work up to 30...you can always TIVO that late night show that you watch for the 'wind down' time and hit the sack early.


 Continue with your exercise routine if you have one (which you should:), and if you don't, then get out and take an evening stroll through the neighborhood while the weather is changing and enjoy the scenery changes.
